Twisted Fate Support Guide
CompetitiveTwisted Fate Support by Guideguy — updated Jul 21, 2026
Lvl 2 teleport into winning top lane.
Item Build
Starting Items
you start with 475g
Twisted Fate is one of if not the strongest support in league classic, he has a unique quality to him which is not in modern day league, which is that, he is allowed to
Gate (E) to any location on the map globally as soon as he has his cooldown up.
As you can imagine, it is incredibly powerful to have the ability to be that present for your whole team, rather than relying on roams, predicting when fights will happen, as well as mobility being a scarce resource in classic.
For
Twisted Fate early game, he can do either;
Set wards in enemy jungle with leveling up his E level 1 and
Gate (E) from base. This will help your jungler massively and also give him a clear direction to invade.
The other option is to start with his
Pick A Card (W) and do standard trading against enemy lane. With a range point and click stun or AoE Slow you can easily get strong presence in lane early.
You want to build
Amplifying Tome first in order to reach
Lucky Pick as fast as possible, mana is a minor issue since you can regen from
Pick A Card (W).
Core Build
This will be the your core build for most games.
Twisted Fate doesn't have a ton of damage, it is short bursts of damage dealing at most 20-30% hp on a target with
Lich Bane +
Wild Cards (Q) +
Pick A Card (W). Your contribution to fights are mostly going to be utility based with
Pick A Card (W) stun and slow.
After you get your
Lucky Pick &
Heart of Gold. You wanna start building towards
Lich Bane &
Boots of Swiftness. Maintaining your gold generating items for as long as possible.
Ruby Sightstone Should only be completed when you feel
Sightstone is not sufficient enough, so that you can maintain the
Heart of Gold gold generation longer into the game.
Stark's Fervor and
Will of the Ancients are equal in strength depending on your team composition. If your team is more AD, then
Stark's Fervor is better first, and vice versa.
Zhonya's Hourglass is a great defense and damage boost for late game, you don't need to build this item but it does feel like one of the best options for him as
Twisted Fate is a squishy champion.
Flex Items
These are some options for
Zhonya's Hourglass I'd consider reasonable.
Rabadon's Deathcap for maxing out his damage while still providing utility.
Mejai's Soulstealer similar to
Rabadon's Deathcap but cheaper alternative.
Frozen Mallet helps chasing down targets, but isn't all that necessary.
Shurelya's Reverie similar to
Frozen Mallet and it allows for keeping a 3rd gold generation item
Philosopher's Stone.

Imagine you as a support had a way to be everywhere on the map when it mattered, that is how your team wants you to play. In classic League of legends, that is possible with
Twisted Fate.
