Item Build
Starting Items
you start with 475g
Early game Alistar's focus is on survival, you have cheese strategies to rely on like Headbutt (W) people into tower if they are careless.
You start by building towards his first item 
Rod of Ages, which will help you farm better and sustain in lane longer.
Core Build
This build centers around buffing his minions.
Banner of Command + Runic Bulwark are the 2 items that will buff your minions.
But Alistar is unique in the case that Ardent Censer buff is applied to minions if they're Healed or Shielded. Triumphant Roar (E) Heals all nearby allies, INCLUDING YOUR MINIONS.
So in 
Nunu & Willump's case he can buff 1 minion with a similar buff to Ardent Censer, and Alistar buffs the entire wave.
The strategy for Alistar is going to be similar to that of a Yorick, where he is just staying on sidelanes, looking for windows to push turrets.
Flex Items
The only flex items that I will include in this list are only going to be for Zhonya's Hourglass.
Randuin's Omen is good if you're playing vs a lot of autoattacking AD champs.
Locket of the Iron Solari shields your minions, not really necessary with Triumphant Roar (E) but if you want to be fully committed to minion build go for it.
Sunfire Cape Great defense for AD and waveclear.
Shushei's Mana Jug Extra AP, Magic Resist & sustain.

Introduction
We all have seen the Nunu & Willump where he buffs a minions with 
Blood Boil (W) & Banner of Command.
But what if I told you Alistar does it arguably better?

I have issues with RoA as first item, it delays Banner a little. Thinking staying at Catalyst and straight to Banner might be a little bit smoother.
